Yacht charter Dubrovnik
Elaphiti islands, Mljet & Montenegro
Sailing from Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik is the base for South Dalmatia: the Elaphiti islands, Mljet national park, Šipan and — with paperwork arranged in advance — the Bay of Kotor. It is also where most of our crewed gulets are berthed.
Getting to Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik airport (DBV) is about 35 minutes from ACI Marina Komolac in the Rijeka Dubrovačka inlet, with direct summer flights from Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo. The marina sits upriver from the old town, so allow time for the taxi back on handover morning.
Wind, sea and season
South Dalmatia is more open than the north: the legs to Mljet and Korčula cross real water and the afternoon maestral can build to 20 knots with a short sea. The Elaphiti channel stays comfortable in most conditions and is the fallback when the crossing looks unpleasant.

Dubrovnik yacht charter — frequently asked questions
- Can we sail from Dubrovnik to Montenegro?
- Yes, but the charter company must authorise it in advance and issue a crew list for the border; you clear out at Cavtat and in at Zelenika. Not every fleet permits it, and there are additional fees, so tell us before booking if the Bay of Kotor is part of your plan.
- Is Dubrovnik better for a crewed charter or bareboat?
- Both work, but the concentration of crewed yachts and gulets is higher here than anywhere else in Croatia, and the longer open-water legs make a skipper a comfortable choice for less experienced crews.
- How far is Hvar from Dubrovnik?
- About 75 nautical miles — possible in a week only as a one-way charter, which several fleets offer between Dubrovnik and Split for a repositioning fee.
